If you are old enough, you remember the very prominent marketing campaign – PORK! the other white meat. While I know some are just averse to pork products – I love it. I have pulled together 14 Recipes That Use Pork – a variety of pork recipes using ham, bacon, ground pork, pork tenderloin, and pork chops. Enjoy!

Because this is a collection that demonstrates the wide variety of uses of pork in a recipes – it’s hard to give you a good run down of kitchen tools that you need to make the most successful dishes. So I’ll do my best. First and for most – a good set of tongs – you need them for most meals. I firmly believe you should have four or five tongs in your drawer – because some may be in the dishwasher and many meals should have more than one (you cant use the same ones you used on the raw meat as on the cooked meat).
And without further adieu – here are 14 Pork Centric Recipes from the blog!
Pork Bahn Mi – A bahn mi is a popular Vietnamese style sandwich made a crusty baguette and loaded up with meat, vegetables and a mayonnaise based sauce. It is also usually spicy, but not always. This recipe is for a flavorful Pork Bahn Mi that has deliciously marinated lemongrass roasted pork, a crunchy citrus daikon slaw and a spicy mayo on a grilled baguette.
Mojo Pork Tacos #SlowCooker – A delicious spicy and citrus pork, slow cooked and loaded into a yummy taco!
BLT Salad – A hearty entree salad loaded with bacon, lettuce and tomatoes, all with a delicious creamy garlic dressing.
Italian Sub Pasta – Sometimes I have these cravings to eat a specific flavor combination but don’t necessarily want to eat it in the typical way. For example, I was really craving an Italian Sub loaded with ham, salami, pepperoni and soppressata and covered in pepperoncini and Italian dressing. But I wasn’t in the mood for a sandwich. So I put on the thinking cap and come up with this pasta dish and whoa is it good! Italian Sub Pasta is such a tasty dish, my kids have already asked for it again.
Char Sui Fried Rice – Making classic Chinese take-out dishes at home can be super fun and a nice change of pace from the regularly scheduled programming. One of our family’s very favorite – we have to get it every time we order takeaway – is fried rice and specifically Chinese Barbequed Pork or Char Sui Fried Rice.
Sausage & Polenta Casserole – Polenta is not frequently used in casseroles – and I have absolutely no idea why. It is such a nice change from pasta or rice casseroles. You get a different texture and flavor that your family is going to adore. Sausage & Polenta Casserole is a simple weeknight meal, that is very quick to put together.
Blackstone Breakfast Quesadillas – This quesadilla has a whole breakfast melted together in a cheese filled tortilla. Plenty of eggs, bacon, ham and sausage mixed together to make the ultimate Blackstone Breakfast Quesadilla. This recipe will work for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It is also a great family gathering breakfast (like a holiday), as it can easily feed an group
Fusion Pork Tacos – An Asian spin on #TacoTuesday – with lemongrass pork, veggies and a creamy ginger sauce.
Grammy’s Sausage Casserole – My husband asked me to try to make a dish that he grew up eating at his Grammy’s house. He had a basic idea of what was in it, but most of the ingredients are not exactly homemade – cream of chicken, chicken noodle soup from a packet – and I just didn’t want to make it that way. So I decided to brighten up the flavor as well as make it from whole ingredients. This is my version of Grammy’s Sausage Casserole.
Ham Broccoli Mac – Ham, broccoli and cheese is a classic combo that most everyone loves. And it really doesn’t get more comfort food than mac & cheese. Ham Broccoli Mac is such a great weeknight meal that the whole family will enjoy. It won’t break the bank and nothing is too hard to come by.
BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders – Sliders are such a fun way to serve up dinner. They are also great for get togethers and backyard BBQs! These BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders are so full of flavor and fun to eat. My kids and hubby can eat three or four of these delights.
Grilled Pork Ramen with Bok Choy – One of the most wonderful things about ramen is that you can put together all sorts of different veggies and meats to create a delicious bowl – so you can really clean out that veggie drawer in the fridge! This go around I decided that I wanted to use up some pork chops, so I made Grilled Pork Ramen with Bok Choy.
Mediterranean Pork & Chickpeas – If chickpeas are not on regular rotation at your home, you have been missing out. They have such a great nutty flavor but also they are mild enough to mesh will with other bold flavors. This one pot meal is packed with chickpeas, marinated artichokes, spinach, fennel seed, basil and pork. Mediterranean Pork & Chickpeas is a quick meal that has an amazing depth of flavor – perfect for a Homemade on a Weeknight meal!
Balsamic Brown Sugar Pork Tenderloin – Balsamic is one of my favorite flavors. It is way more versatile that most give it credit for, as it can be used on poultry, pork or red meat. It goes great in pastas, salads, veggies – really just about anything. It can have a sharp tang but it is such a lovely flavor. I most recently used it to make a delightful glaze for a slow cooked pork. Balsamic Brown Sugar Pork Tenderloin has just the right combination of brown sugar sweetness and balsamic vinegar tang – so very tasty.
