So many think that making pizza at home has to be a big undertaking. Even making the dough from scratch, still not that rough. It just takes a little bit of planning ahead (need about an hour for the dough to rise). But it’s even easier if you use store-bought par-baked pizza crusts. Even when you love pizza as much as I do, you don’t want the regular red sauce and pepperoni pizza every time. This Chicken Bacon Pizza is a great change of pace with a simple white sauce and easy toppings.

For this recipe I like to use chicken deli meat because it makes things so much easier. I have a preference to the peppered chicken meat, but you can use any sort of chicken deli meat. I give it a rough chop just so you don’t get too big of pieces that would make eating the slice too difficult. The same goes for the spinach. Since you are not cooking the spinach at all prior to putting it on the pizza, you don’t want to have it in whole leaves on the pizza.
The sauce is super simple to make – very similar to a cheese sauce for macaroni and cheese or even alfredo. This sauce does not have quite as much cheese as those sauces, but they come together much the same way. You do not want the sauce to be too cheesy for this particular application as it’s meant to be a true pizza sauce and not just another layer of cheese.
For this recipe I like to use a round pizza pan, as it gives for a slightly thicker crust which really works with these toppings. It gives for a fantastic bite. I also suggest using pizza scissors instead of a pizza wheel to cut. Again the type of toppings, its better to cut the pizza rather than slice it, so as to not pull the toppings off.

That looks delicious! On pizza night I prep our crust first thing in the morning when I wake up and then just set it aside to rise and rest until we’re ready to make our actual pizzas. I am definitely going to have to try branching out to other toppings and sauces though.
Amazing, I now to use GF wraps or pizza bases but will make this topping for sure next time. Thanks for sharing

I don’t have much luck making things from scratch. But I do like using store bought premade dough, crusts, Pillsbury pizza crust, croissant dough and biscuits to make a variety of things. This pizza recipe is going to come in handy. Chicken, bacon and spinach are a great combination and your white sauce sounds amazing. Pinned 📌
