Greek Hummus Pizza

Jump to Recipe

Much like my affinity for making anything into a burger – I tend to do the same thing with pizzas! I had a craving for hummus but that’s not a real meal, right? So I thought on it some and came up with this Greek Hummus Pizza! It combines the delicious traditional Greek flavors of dill, mint, garlic and feta with a homemade hummus and ground lamb. This pizza is not your typical flavors but it is so worth it!

Greek Hummus Pizza

As I mentioned in the recipe, you can use the homemade pizza dough recipe I included below or you can opt to use a store bought pizza dough. If you are looking for a quick meal, you can have it completed start to finish in under 30 minutes if you use store bought. And really, no one is going to fault you. If you have the time and enjoy dough work, please give my pizza dough recipe a try. Or you could, of course, use your own favorite dough recipe. This one is a thinner, almost flatbread style, so keep that in mind.

The feta is not going to melt like other cheese, but it does get gooey, so do you best to spread it evenly. You could add another layer of flavor, and use marinated feta cheese instead of plain. You could also add a little bit of feta cheese to the hummus if you want to make it a little more creamy. If you are unsure about eating ground lamb, you could definitely use ground beef or even ground chicken. The seasonings with work the same on any of those meats.

You are going to to make to hold on to this recipe for the homemade hummus just as much as the pizza. It is so good with pita chips and perfect for your next charcuterie board. I served this with a Mediterranean style salad. Made with tomatoes, cucumbers, endive and romaine drizzled in a balsamic vinaigrette.
