Ground Beef is a true staple when it comes to weeknight cooking – especially for a family. It can be the start of the meal or simply add in the protein for something. You can crumble and cook it or you can form it into meatballs, burgers, kebabs or loaves. You can use it in just about every type or style of cuisine around the world. It also freezes well (when properly packaged) so you can be sure to have some on hand for any night of the week.
As you are probably aware, ground beef typically comes in a variety of fat contents – 3% being the leanest (least amount of fat) up to 30%. In general, I use 15% fat content for my recipes. Higher fat content produces a lot of grease, that needs to be drained off, but also results in less volume after cooking. On the other side of the coin, super lean ground beef tends to be a bit drier and does not usually take on the flavors you cook it with.
To demonstrate just how versatile ground beef can be, I have gathered together nine of my most popular recipes featuring ground beef.
Beef Bacon & Blue Cheese Pizza – A creamy cheesy sauce topped with ground beef, bacon, blue cheese, red onions and mozzarella!
Beef Enchiladas – A delicious sauce over ground beef enchiladas, covered with cheese!
