As we head into holiday function season – this side dish makes for an incredible potluck side dish. It is also wonderul for a side to some grilled meats or an easy veggie additon to a weeknight meal. This Easy Broccoli Salad is a great recipe to have in your recipe card file.

This salad is actually even better the next day – making it perfect for a potluck or event the next day. It is also so good as part of a lunch prepping regime. If you have those partitioned glass containers, this is perfect for that use.

Substitutes and Variations:

If you want a little variety in this recipe, you could add some chopped cauliflower. You could also swap the dried minced onions with some diced red onions. You could also substitute pumpkins seeds also known as pepitas for the sunflower seeds.

Tools that may make this recipe easier:

You will need a good knife for the broccoli and a good whisk for the dressing. Otherwise no real special tools are needed.

Easy Broccoli Salad

A wonderful and simple side dish that will work for any night of the week.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Fresh Broccoli chopped
  • 1 cup Dried Cranberries
  • ½ cup Sunflower Seeds

For the Dressing

  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup White Vinegar
  • ¼ cup White Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Dried Minced Onion
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Dried Dill
  • 1 tsp Granulated Garlic

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine dressing ingredients.
  • In a larger bowl, add broccoli, sunflower seeds, and dried cranberries. Toss to combine and then pour the dressing over the top. Then toss again to evenly coat.
  • Cover and let sit in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. (up to 48 hours).
