What’s been going on at Homemade on a Weeknight?
It’s that time again! We have our first batch of meat chicks braving the Montana winter! They are so darn cute and growing like crazy. We have already had to start work on their second enclosure and we have barely had them a week. We are trying yet another breed – as the breed we last had wasn’t available for another 6 months. And, well, our freezer is gonna be needing some replenishment before then. So far we have been really happy with these and hope that they will be nice and plump when it comes time to process them. Once thing we are really looking forward to about raising these out on our property instead of in the city (as we have done in the past) is that we don’t have to start processing them the day a rooster starts to crow! We can let them gain a little more weight and process when we are ready.

One of this last week’s most popular recipe was: Creamy Bratwurst Casserole– a very hearty casserole that is perfect for the colder winter weeknightst.
