What’s been going on at Homemade on a Weeknight?

August is already here! The summer is just flying by and we are already looking at “back to school” planning. I want to hang on to summer and enjoy the hot days in the pool and go fresh fruit picking and make cold dinners. We went to the Peach Daze celebration this last weekend at a local farm called Detering Orchards. They had all sorts of vendors and fun fair like things – we got to pet the goats! We picked about 10 pound of peaches and 5 pounds of blackberries. We will freeze most of them to use for our morning smoothies. But I also have some exciting ideas involving grilled peaches in our future! Do you get to venture out to local farms and enjoys these sorts of events?
