Welcome to the Weekly Book Report and Book Review Link-up #14!
Every Wednesday I will be sharing my latest read – which could be a cookbook, a celebrity chef biography or memoir, a lifestyle book, a gardening book, a homemaking book or maybe even a cozy kitchen mystery book. They may be paper books, eBooks, or audio books. I have challenged myself to read or listen to at least one book per week, and I plan to share that with you all here.

In addition to my Book Report, there will be a Book Report LInky – a chance for all of you to share your own book review blog post (ONE per blog, please). We want to see what had you page flipping, can’t put it down, totally captivated.
Lastly will be a Featured post from the previous week’s shared posts. This will be a post picked at random by the host. Each host will likely pick their own feature – so that’s three chances to be featured!
If you have any suggestions for me on book I should check out – please let me know!
Title: The Pioneer Woman: Black Heels to Tractor Wheels–a Love Story
Author: Ree Drummond
Publication Date: February 2012
Published by: William Morrow Paperbacks
Listed Price: $12.79 (Paperback), $13.99 (Kindle)
About the Author:
Ree Drummond, also known as The Pioneer Woman. After marrying a cattle rancher, moving to the country, and having babies for ten years, I started a blog on a whim in 2006. There, I shared stories from my childhood, photos of my children growing up in the country, and eventually, recipes I cooked for my family. This eventually led to my first cookbook, which was released in 2009, and two cookbooks since. I love writing about food (and taking photos of food!) both in my cookbooks and on my website. I also love eating the food I write about! I have enjoyed writing a series of children’s picture books based on my very lethargic and malodorous Basset Hound named Charlie. “Charlie the Ranch Dog” has been a sweet experience for me. My Food Network show, “The Pioneer Woman,” premiered in 2011 and it’s still being filmed on the Oklahoma ranch I share with my husband and four children.
Brief Description of the book:
Miracle Springs, North Carolina, is a place of healing. Strangers flock here hoping the natural hot springs, five-star cuisine, and renowned spa can cure their ills. If none of that works, they often find their way to Miracle Books, where, over a fresh-baked “comfort” scone from the Gingerbread House bakery, they exchange their stories with owner Nora Pennington in return for a carefully chosen book. That’s Nora’s special talent—prescribing the perfect novel to ease a person’s deepest pain and lighten their heaviest burden.
Wildly popular award-winning blogger, accidental ranch wife, and #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Pioneer Woman Cooks, Ree Drummond (aka The Pioneer Woman) tells the true story of her storybook romance that led her from the Los Angeles glitter to a cattle ranch in rural Oklahoma, and into the arms of her real-life Marlboro Man.
My Review:
I have been a fan of the Pioneer Woman – Ree Drummond – for quite some time. She has such a great personality, full of grit and grace. This book tells the story of how she came to be the “Pioneer Woman” a life she didn’t originally plan on. It really is a story book or fairytale romance about the way she meet her husband and the life they built together. The book is written in such a a way that you almost feel like you are just sitting on her ranch while she tells the story over coffee or wine. It was so easy to read in weekend, cozy in bed while the rain falls. If you are looking for a make your heart smile type story then this is the book for you.

Thanks for the review of Ree’s book, I had not heard about it. I have been to her restaurant in Pawhuska Oklahoma, it’s about an hour drive from my home. As you might guess, the food is yummy and she has a Mercantile full of colorful merchandise. Come visit.
I am actually heading to OK in January and hoping to find time to stop in. Thank you so much
