Every kitchen needs some cool gadgets to make things run smoother, work better or just plain make life easier. This week I want to share a few things that I {ACTUALLY} bought on Amazon and just love! Whether you are looking for some gift ideas for the home cook in your life or just want to treat yourself to something fun for your kitchen set-up, I hope you will come back each week to see what else I found. And yes – of course – these are some affiliate links in the post.

Ultimate Precision Electric Deli Food Meat Slicer – I am not sure how I made it this far into my life without getting a meat slicer. The key to this machine – just think of it as a SLICER. You can do so much – slice your pork thin for the perfect Bahn Mi or slice some russet potatoes for the perfect homemade potato chips. You can use it get your cheese sliced nice and thin for your burgers. It really is a much for a home cook.

Kikcoin Banneton Bread Proofing Basket Set of 2, and Bread Lame – I am full-on into my SOURDOUGH era! I have two starters and have been making breads three times a week. I am now exploring the vast and amazing world of Sourdough Discard Recipes – stay tuned for those to start popping up as I get more comfortable with it. As a side note – the baskets are not totally necessary, but you do need a Lame (razor blade with a handle) to make the pretty designs on your boules and loaves.

Heavy Duty Cross Wire Cooling Rack Half Sheet Pan Grate – 12″ x 16-1/2″ Drip Screen 2 Pack – I use these almost every single day, whether it’s for breakfast lunch or dinner. Whenever I am making something in the oven that needs to come out cripsy (french fries, corn dogs, chicken tenders, my Spicy Chicken Sandwiches). Just the slight elevation helps things to cook evenly and to stay crispy on all sides,

10 Pack Grow Bags 5 Gallon Heavy Duty – its spring which means it’s time to get your veggies into the garden to you have a late spring through summer and into early fall cache of fresh picked. This year I may have gone a little overboard with my starts and had a bit more than my garden bed could handle. So I found these grow bags to work as stand ins for my more bed space. I can’t wait to get my potatoes planted!

Talking with My Mouth Full: My Life as a Professional Eater by Gail Simmons – another of my culinary heroes, Gail Simmons is most famous for her seat as a judge on Top Chef. She is so clever and witty and fun – someone everyone wishes they could be friends with.

Do you have any must-have kitchen tools or gadgets that you want to share? Do you have any suggestion so things that you want me to check out?

  1. I just ordered those cooking/cooling racks this morning. We often use racks like that to cook our croissants and the ones we had were getting rusty so I figured it was time to replace them.
